Question: I am a 45yr female. 1,57m height and weigh 62kg. Generally good health, not doing much excersize but is gen. Active.
I have chronic urinary tract infections with blood in my urine. It comes on very quickly with fever and agonizing pain when urinating. Heavy urge to urinate with downward pressure feeling like constipation but only drips with blood clonts coming out. After every visit to the doctor they test my urine and send samples to lab for analysis but comes out clear. Even for sexual fungess.
I have been married for 20yrs and only have one sex partner. I had a histerectomy about 4yrs ago. I get sharp pains in both groins when I stand up from sitting. Had a sonar to check my overies but all good.
I have been on hipertention meds for the past 5 years. Was treated for depression for 5years but have stopped meds 2 years ago. My depression is ok. I had full blood tests about 5 mths ago and nothing in particular.
I do smoke and go on dinking binges from time to time. However I drink plenty of water.
Over Decmber I had a bout of a galbladder attack or it might have been bad idigestion?
I have had bad hair loss the past 3mths and my eyesight have deteriorated.
Should I go see an uroligist or specialist?

Brief Answer:
UTI is easily treatable, please upload all test reports

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mrs. XXXX,

Welcome to health care magic.

I have gone through your query and I understand your concern regarding blood in urine.

Urinary tract infections(UTI) are very common in women as they have a shorter urethra and the close proximity of the urethra with the vagina and anus predisposes females for recurrent UTI.

Coming to the symptoms you have mentioned in your query, they are suggestive of urinary tract infection but I need to go through all your reports to come to a definitive diagnosis.

I suggest you upload scanned copies of reports of all investigations you have undergone in the past 6 months for me to get a better understanding about your case.

You can upload the images on the link provided on the right side of our web page.

Please get back with the reports as soon as possible so that I can help you get better.

Thanks.

Good day,
Please let me know how to upload test results. Also read my messages from intro.

The doctors rooms only sent my recent two lab results for uti infection tests on 23/01/2015 which showed neg. for uti?? These tests were taken about 4 days after I experienced a heavy bout of uti and blood in my urine. The doctor then prescribed Keflex 500mg 3 x pd.
I am now having uti infection again for the last week, severe to moderate with sharp pains in my groins & lower back ache and obvious burn when urinating.
May sound weird but I have noticed that the infections are brought on by me lying on a soft couch for prolonged periods watching TV. Ie. Pressure on my lower back spine?
I have simptoms of gas that reliefs the pains and also feels like constipation which I do not have.
Could it be a hernia or indigestine problems?

As i have mentioned, I had a histerectomy in 2009. Do you still need to know details of my menstrual history?

Brief Answer:
Please upload on the link present on right side of our webpage

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mrs. XXXX,

Welcome back.

I have gone through your query and the details you mention about lab results are not very clear.

There is a rare possibility of culture being negative if typical symptoms of UTI are present.

It can occur only when infection is due to organisms which do not grow easily on common culture media like mycoplasma, chlamydiae and mycobacteria.

You have been prescribed broad spectrum antibiotics previously which could also affect your culture results.

I wanted to know your past menstrual history to know the reason for hysterectomy. Please get back with details of the same.

You mention low back ache which is commonly seen in recurrent UTI.

I suggest you get your urine tested for AFB and culture for mycobacteria.

Please undergo the suggested tests and get back with their results too.

You can upload the scanned images of your test reports on the link present on the right side of our web page.

I hope I have helped you satisfactorily.

Please get back with reports and any more queries.

Thanks.

Thanks for your reply once again.
I have uploaded the test results to my profile for you to view.
The reason for my hysterectomy was because of myoma/fibroses growth in my womb. They removed a growth of anout 12cm in diameter. I had heavy bleeding during mensruations and shows in-between.
My overies however were healtthy.
I will go for more tests as you suggested. Thank you
