Suggest Treatment For Chronic Sinusitis
Question: I have had a flesh coloured bump at the base of palatoglossal arch near the tongue . Been there for Atleast 6 months. Has not increased in size and it dose not cause any pain. I do not drink alcohol or smoke. It is asymptomatic and I have no lymph node swelling. It does not cause any pain while eating or swallowing or even while touching it.
Don't know for long I have had it but been observing it for atleast 6 months. It hasn't changed in size.
I also suffer from chronic sinusitis and have been using nasal drops for 5-6 years. I am addicted to them Wonder if it has anything to with that ? Or could it be HPV Or Cancer ?

1. The small lump is either normal enlarged lymphoid tissue or a benign mucus cyst.
2. This is a part of Waldeyer's ring of lymphoid (tonsil-like) tissue which guards the oral cavity and nasal airway.
3. Lymphoid tissue does not regress to its original size after if reacts to local inflammation, infection or allergy.
4. It is not cancer. HPV can be tested to rule out subtypes 16 and 18.
5. No active treatment is necessary. Only wait & observe. If this troubles you, you can get an excision biopsy or a coblation assisted excision done and send it for histopathology examination.
