Question: I have chronic pain and it is very difficult to sleep. I do not want RX sleeping pill. I will soon start seroquil at 25mg and increase to 50mg. Can trazodone 50mg every 6 hours (prn) be taken with seroquil at hs. Trazodone is taken for anxiety.

As we discussed in the past seroquel is great option for sleep and I endorse your idea to avoid typical sleeping pills.

Regarding your current questions yes TRazodone can be used along with seroquel. They have very little interaction and are helpful in the condition to each other. In addition both have important effect on anxiety.

I slightly doubt the every six hour strategy of trazodone as typically it to be given either once a day or twice a day. I do not see any rationale for every six hour use of trazodone.
