Suggest Treatment For Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

default
Posted on Mon, 20 Jul 2015
Question: Dear Dr. Spaho,

we previously discussed my condition (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) and its possible relation to infections.

I have had 2 batteries of test done on all the infections you suggested (separated by 3 weeks) and everything was negative except myscoplasma:
1) first test
Myco. pneu.IgG 1,94 pozitivní
Myco. pneu.IgA 0,78 negativní
Myco. pneu.IgM 1,28 pozitivní

2) second test
Myco. pneu.IgG 1,93 pozitivní
Myco. pneu.IgA 0,93 hraniční
Myco. pneu.IgM 1,33 pozitivní

I am also awaiting the results of parasitology.

I am not very keen on taking antibiotics due to side effects ect... especially when i don't have any classical symptoms of infection except perhaps the Chronic fatigue syndrome and all the related symptoms.

I've started taking goat colostrum...

If you have any suggestions do let me know. Thanks.

All the best,

XXXX

P.S. I'm feeling better now, the fatigue is only moderate now not sever anymore, I don't have concentration or memory problems any more... The only thing that persists is difficulty with reading and muscular spasms...

oh yeah sorry

positivni = positive
negativini = negative
hranicni = borderline

Brief Answer:
A sort of rehabilitation with physical therapy should continue.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back XXXXXXX and thanks for asking directly.

Glad to hear you are improving.

Mycoplasma pneumoniae results positive, is related to CFS.

However, since your condition is improving and you have not other symptoms of Mycoplasma infection, I don't think neither you need antibiotics right now.

Seems your body is fighting sufficiently the infection.

Goat colostrum is a good food about more easily digestible proteins and energizing one, so it is good for your condition.

About suggestions, I think graded exercises by a physical therapist and improving your sleep habits may help improve further.

Another titration of Mycoplasma after three months is needed to follow up the course of its presence too.

Just peace your mind and you will get better about muscle spasms and reading difficulties.

Hope I helped you. Best regards.
