Suggest Treatment For Chronic Depression

Question: I am currently attending group meetings 2 x a week for anxiety and depression. I have been severely depressed for several years and in January I was actually contemplating suicide when I found these meetings. The meetings help some but I am still severely depressed. I honestly think I need further help but don't know what to do. Where would I find further help? I am really depressed and not sleeeping

I think, you have chronic depression and anxiety or suicidal ideas are part of it. In that case, you need combination of antidepressants with benzodiazepine. You did not mention the drugs, so i can not comment on that. You can try some relaxation exercise like JPMR or deep breathing exercise that would help to control anxiety symptoms. You can also try cognitive behavioral therapy. For that, you can take help of psychologist. You can try life style modification technique that would help to control mood swings.

Tell me about your current medication, so i could suggest you some changes in drugs.
