Suggest Treatment For Chest Infection With Psoriatic Arthritis
Question: I have had a chest infection for over three weeks, I had a chest x ray and Gp said it shows some enlarged heart.?
I`ve had two lots of antibiotics now, still coughing thick mucus, and exhausted with it.
I have psoriatic arthritis and I am on a biologic, what else can I do to get better! I have to have another chest xray in a week or two. I am still wheezing and am sore with the coughing.
I am 67. Do not smoke, my arthritis has caused disability, thanks.

I read your question and i understand your concern. With use of biological DMARDs for psoriatic arthritis, body immune system is compromised a bit and odds of infection and re infection are increased like in your case, chest infection. Antibiotics for infection and supportive care for cough is advised. Home remedies for cough will work too.
However this enlarged heart should be followed up with an echo and ekg to rule out any congestive heart problem as that can mimic a chest infection too.
