Suggest Treatment For Celiac Disease

Posted on Fri, 17 Feb 2017
Question: I have Celiac Disease. I have been on a strict gluten free diet for four years. When I began the sudden diet change I would have this feeling to where I am hungry every hour and need to eat something. This feeling begins with a strange acid sensation in my chest but it's not a heart burn feeling. My weight is normal but I have an extremely fast metabolism. Eating causes the feeling to go away for about an hour or so.

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here. Well, that is a really good thing, having a high rate of metabolism is very helpful, especially in the later years.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a good metabolic rate, but the only thing I would recommend when you feel hungry is to try and eat healthy food and not fatty/fried/oily food or spicy food. Eating healthy can entail salads, freshly made fruit juices, non-acidic fruits, etc. Having a healthy intake in between meals with items as mentioned above can help maintain your weight and also provide you with energy to get through the day.

Also make sure you drink water at regular intervals, and I am sure you will be perfectly fine, in fact you are perfectly fine. I hope this provides you with the reassurance you were seeking. Please do not hesitate to write to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
