Suggest Treatment For Canker Sores In Mouth

default
Posted on Fri, 19 Feb 2016
Question: I am 49 years old and have never had canker sores. Last Wednesday my gums became sore and several canker sores appeared on the sides of my tongue, under my tongue, inside my cheek and inside of my lip. This has never happened before and has been extremely painful. I have treated them with over the counter topical remedies and while the pain is diminishing and the sores are healing, I feel extremely fatigued.

Brief Answer:
Monitor only for now!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these canker sores that you have reported. This is certainly of concern and more so because you have never had them before. However, treatment is only about addressing the pain and allowing the infection to heal all by itself. Unless they happen often, there is no need to get concerned about at this time. Fatigue is typical in this case and in line with convalescence. For now, eat much fruits, vegetables and drink much fluids. Only seek further care if something else comes up.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Above all, thanks for using our services.
