Brief Answer:
Need evaluation...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

From your description, he seems to be suffering from myalgia with gut problems and these symptoms are fairly acute (sudden) in nature. In this context, the first thing that should be considered is an infective (viral condition). Besides these sometimes the symptoms could be due to arthritis and or neuropathic pain (rarely). Without physical examination and evaluation, I will not be able to isolate specific cause. I will recommend he visits a physician nearby. Careful clinical examination and if necessary a few tests - blood counts, ESR, CRP should be ordered inaddition to X-ray studies of the affected joints.

I am not sure of the medication pebrin 75mg. But the close possible match that I have is pregabalin which is helpful in the treatment of neuropathic pain. This medication needs some time before he will feel better. May I know who prescribed it?
He can continue to take renerv.

Hi doctor.

We will consult the doctor today and get all tests done. Pebrin was recommended by neurologist when we consulted the doctor 5 years ago when he had the same problem.

I am attaching the old reports.

Thanks

Brief Answer:
Not sure if old report relates to present symptoms...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The report is a nerve conduction study. I am not sure if it relates to his current symptoms. Let me know how the doctor visit went by and if there were any other concerns raised.

We have visited fhe neurologist and he confirmed it as anxiety with element of obsession. And asked to stop all the medicine and just take oleanz for 10 days and revist.

My question is will anxiety cause such pain and trouble?

Brief Answer:
Anxiety has wide range of symptoms...

Detailed Answer:
I apologies for the late response. I was away from my town and did not have access to internet.

Anxiety has wide range of symptoms including multiple body pains as described by your father. If all other causes were ruled out by his neurologist, then yes, his symptoms can be confirmed as anxiety related. Try the prescribed drug for some days and see how he feels. If he feels better, then we can reconfirm diagnosis of anxiety.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. If all your questions are answered, then please close this discussion.
