Question: Hi Doctor,

I drank some espresso and it was bitter yesterday, and this morning when I passed my stool and wiped, I found some red blood in the toilet paper. The stool is normal color but the blood was bright red and fresh. I am a bit worried, I had a stomach pain for last few weeks and did all the tests and CT scan all data shows nothing. I don't have any history of cancer in the family.

Is there anything to worry?

I have some burning sensation in the anus as well.

Brief Answer:
Probable anal fissure

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.

Bright red blood in stool indicates lesions lower down in the large bowel.
The two most common causes are piles and anal fissure.
Since you complain of burning sensation also in the anus, anal fissure is the most likely cause.
The following will provide relief.
1. Sitz bath for 10 minutes twice a day
2. Anovate to be applied in the anal verge twice a day after sitz bath
3. Cremadiet Duo two scoops in 200 ml of water in the night
4. Lots of vegetables and fruits
5. Plenty of fluids

Regards,
Dr.R.K.
