Question: Hello. My friend has a sorr of rash on buttocks that burns when water touches it. He works out daily and he recently saved and used a clipper.

Hi and thanks so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this rash. I have reviewed the attached image fully and it is suggestive of a possible after shave bump. I recommend that he does sitz baths averagely thrice daily. In a bowl containing about 1.5L of lukewarm water, he should add about 15ml of an antiseptic solution such as iodine and sit in for 15mins. He should do this at least thrice daily and after every stool. If in pains, tylenol 1000mg every 6-8hours is advised. If this rash spreads further, I suggest he gets it evaluated as antibiotics might become necessary for effective control.
