Question: erosive gastritis treatment required.have taken rabiprazole and levosulpiride.need some better medicine to suppress burning sensation

thanks for posting query at HCM

noticed your history and also went through the attached endoscopy report.

advice:

- continue medication rabiprazole ( OR switch to "nexium-esomeprazole 40mg" once before breakfast ) for atleast 8 weeks and then follow up with your treating physician.
- avoid chocolates; carbonated drinks,
- avoid tomato juice, decrease salt intake
- minimum alcohol intake and try quit smoking ( if your a smoker)
- eat your dinner at least 2 to 3 hours before going to bed
- raise your head by placing two pillows under your head before sleeping
- include plain yogurt in your meal
- "avoid stress"

levosulpride maybe continued as directed by your physician or at least taken for 4 weeks .

to counter burning sensation , you may take 20mg of nexium or any other PPI before breakfast and 40mg before dinner . take this medication for atleast 6 to 8 weeks n followup with your treating physician
in addition, diet modifictaion should be followed as mentioned in previous email .
