Question: Small bump above ankle about 3 inches pea size under skin, firm, hurts to press on. Highly active. Workout 3-4 times a week. Run 3 miles a week

It may be ganglion cyst,fibroma or wrinkled joint capsule and all conditions are seen in active persons. If there is no associated pain or discomfort then you should not be worried. some other diagnoses are rare. if there will be fast grow or pain and redness then you should do ultrasound with punction of this bump.
