Suggest Treatment For Bumps On Penis And Red Flaky Rashes On Inner Thighs

Question: About a month ago, I was possibly exposed to herpes. I had approximately five bumps on the shaft of my penis that blistered scabbed and healed. As the scabs healed, I developed a rash on the inner thighs which was red, flaky, itchy and slightly raised. The rash is slightly painful when touched. However, there are no blisters/sores associated with the rash. I'm also experiencing slight numbness on the sole of my left foot and around the left cheek of my butt. Is this all related to a genital herpes primary outbreak or is it something else?

Brief Answer:
Yes herpes infection related.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query at HCM.
I understand your concern and situation.

You are in recovery phase of herpes infection. There is nothing to worry. Such symptoms are usually seen after herpes viral infection called as post herpetic neuralgia. You can apply zostrix cream, which can help reduce the risk of postherpetic neuralgia (nerve pain experienced after recovery from shingles). Anti-inflammation drugs can also help relieve symptoms. Tat rest, apply cold wet compresses to the rash to reduce painvand apply calamine lotion to reduce itching. The herpes infection will typically clears up within a few weeks and rarely recurs. Avoid intercourse and take an HIV test if had unsafe intercourse.

Take care.

Thank you for replying, Doctor. Will the neuralgia go away, too? I've been experiencing the numbness for a few weeks now.
