Suggest Treatment For Bump On Penis

Posted on Mon, 10 Nov 2014
Question: I have a very tiny bump on the shaft of my penis. It does not hurt and is only slightly darker than the rest of the skin. I don't know if its a scar bump or something else. It seems to disappear when the skin is puller but the color does stay slightly darker. Any idea what this could be? Could something like this come from masturbation?

Brief Answer:
Focal inflammatory condition.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to health care magic. Dr. Ganesh.

1.Thanks for the information provided, it was helpful. The bump looks like focal inflammation if the skin.

2.The remedy in this case will be - do not disturb the area, clean in with antiseptic liquid, do not scratch, compress, squeeze the area - in that way it will delay the healing process. Use soft clothing ( avoid clothing which will irritate the area)

3.Apply anti inflammatory cream ( available on counter) after cleaning with antiseptic liquid, that will help.

4.As you asked masturbation will cause - yes it can cause, due to excessive rubbing of the skin in certain area may give such changes.

5.Maintain local hygiene, follow above remedies, do not disturb for couple of days - that should heal. If still persists - it may need to examine and do needful action.

Good luck.

Thanks for that. A follow up question I have is, why would it only appear in that tiny area, as opposed to a larger area? I thought perhaps it was from being irritated, but because it came as a tiny, singular bump, it was a little confusing. IF it doesn't get better, can that lead to something worse?

Brief Answer:
Focal inflammatory condition.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for the followup.

1. It generally stars with some area and spreads, some time the inflammatory condition can be diffuse and in some cases its focal ( localised ).

2. No it does not look like some thing serious, it should go on its own with simple remedies.

Good luck
wish you good health.
