default
Posted on Wed, 28 Oct 2015
Question: I hit my leg on the corner of the metal desk at work 2weeks ago. My upper right outer side of my thigh got bruised and swelled in the area. Today the bruising has gone down minorly but the swelling is more hard formed, I think. And it still hurts to the touch.

Brief Answer:
Organised haematoma needs heat therapy

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Thanks for the query.

It is possible that the blood collection has organised to form a hard mass close to the thigh muscles.

Apply heat, keep the limb elevated, take pain killers for 5 days. Usually heat therapy in the form of hot wayer Bag will be very useful to reduce the size of the swelling.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
