Suggest Treatment For Bruised Head

Question: my 11 month old fell 6 hrs ago and hit her head behind her ear. seemed fine. cried less than 5 mins, napped, ate, played. at bathtime, I noticed the mark looked very red and now appears to be bruising. she went to bed an hour early. should we go to the ER?

Brief Answer: relax. Detailed Answer: Hi. Thanks for your query. Relax,there is nothing to worry. Apply ice over area for 5 minutes 2 to 3 times a day. Give acetaminophen for pain relief 15 mg/kg bodt weight. Observe for any warning sign like excessive drowsiness/persistant vomiting/bleeding from ear or nose and in case ypu onserbe any take him to ER. Hope I have answered your query.
