Suggest Treatment For Bruise On The Forearm

Question: I play in a state tennis tournament this weekend and on Friday I hit a hard forehand during a match and felt something "go" on the top part of my forearm. I finished the match in a ton of pain then saw the trainer. They said it was a bad strain didn't appear to be any tearing. Couldn't even shake his hand with any pressure. So I iced repeatedly for about 24 hours along with anti-inflammatories. It got much better, not great, but allowed me to play in the Semi's and Finals on Sunday. It was pretty painful and I was limited on my abilities but got through it. Today my arm is twice as swollen and I even have a very large bruise on the underside of my forearm. Can I get away with Ice, rest and anti-inflammatories? Or should i go see my local orthopedic?

Brief Answer:
Muscle contusion

Detailed Answer:
Hi there

Thanks for the query

Since you are able to do all movements, it is less probably a muscle tear, though there may be muscle contusion or bleeding.

You can take Tablet containing Trypsin, Bromelain and Rutoside as well as Aceclofenac twice a day for 3 days. This so help reduce the swelling well. Keep the limb elevated. Keep icing it.

Avoid playing for the next 15 days. This will show the muscle to heal in that time.

I hope I have answered your query.
