Suggest Treatment For Bruise On Stomach After Injury

Question: Hi

On April 17th, I was getting out of the pool and I think I either pulled a muscle or bumped an area on my stomach on the edge of the pool. About a few days later a bruise formed and the area was quite tender. It is improving with no noticeable pain but still a bit tender to the touch. I have taken a picture of the bruise dated April 22nd and today for comparison. I suppose I should not keep pressing it but does it look like it's improving and should I be worried?

Brief Answer:
Some information about your bruise

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

About your bruised area -

The second picture does look like the bruise is fading. But until the white blood cells break down the blood and the pigment that spilled out from the broken red blood cells (which gives a bruise it's color), it will continue to look bruised and be tender.

It does not look like the bruise is expanding (i.e. there is no further bleeding at the site) and the color of the bruise is reassuring that it is resolving (more green-brown than red-purple). So I don't think there is anything you need to do about it. Bruises can take a long time to get thoroughly cleaned up and resolve. But avoid pressing on it, as it is a site of recent injury and therefore should be dealt with gently.
