Question: I was hit in the eye 9 months ago. It was a moderate blow primarily to the eye ball itself. I had no bruising or redness. My problem is that my eye feels bruised. I hv seen an ophthalmologist and he did not see any issues. I have tried oral steroids but no relief. It's really sore. Sometimes the pain is minimal but the second I rub it it becomes extremely sensitive. There must be some internal swelling of extra ocular muscles??? I looked up trochlitis but I do not hv pain in the region on my brow bone. I do however have the majority of pain on medial side of eye where the blunt trauma was. Any thoughts

Brief Answer:
blow injury in eye followed by pain.

Detailed Answer:
You have already checked it by ophthalmologist. He has given OK report. There was no requirement of steroid. You could have started NASAID'S like nemulid or simply combiflam tablet after food. Can give some cold compression. There is nothing like internal swelling. Ophthalmologist must have done ophthalmoscopy. It can detect internal injury. In your case analgesic and time will heal it completely. Normalcy in your eye will be restored. Steroid should be tapered of.
