Brief Answer:
These drugs to be continued. Standard treatment for acne to be taken.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for being on Healthcaremagic.com. I am Dr.Ajay Panwar, a neurologist, here to answer your query.

You are apparently on antituberculous therapy(AKT4) for Tuberculous meningitis(TBM). Isoniazid, Rifampicin and Ethambutol which are component drugs in AKT4 are known to cause acneiform eruptions in 1-2% of the patients, as in your case. But for these acneiform eruptions, there are clear cut guidelines that AKT4 is not to be stopped and standard acne treatments are to be taken(like topical retinoids and steroids). Please visit a 'Dermatologist' for the treatment of these acneiform eruptions. AKT4 must not be stopped as acne is a minor issue(as compared to Tuberculous meningitis) which can otherwise also be managed by a Skin specialist without stopping the offending drugs, while Tuberculous meningitis is a serious illness, for which if treatment is discontinued, it can lead to severe complications.

Along with AKT4 sompraz, livogen and benadon are given to counteract the adverse effects of AKT4 which are gastritis, liver injury and peripheral neuropathy, respectively prevented by these three drugs.

Almito is being given for controlling headache.

Bottom line-please visit a skin specialist for treatment of your boils and pimples. You must not stop the medicines, otherwise it will cause serious consequences.

Hope, I have answered your query. If you have follow-up queries, I shall be glad to answer else, please close the thread-rate it and write a review.
