Suggest Treatment For Boil In Leg

default
Posted on Mon, 15 Feb 2016
Question: My 5 year old daughter has a pimple/boil on her leg. Last night it had a head, but we opted not to try and squeeze or XXXXXXX it. Tonight, it was more sizable, with penumbral rubor and warm to the touch, and after wiping with an alcohol pad, I was prepared to XXXXXXX it with a sterile needle. As I was manipulating the area manually it popped and significant white and green discharge was emitted. I am unclear what this is or why it occurred. I will reevaluate it in the AM.

Brief Answer:
Furuncle

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query.
She has developed furuncle.
It is a bacterial infection.
It's good that you have removed pus.
She now requires a course of antibiotics to prevent further spread.
Also apply ointment mupirocine to help healing faster.
If possible upload a photograph of the involved area.
This will help me in giving a closer diagnosis.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.
