Brief Answer:
Follow your doctor's opinion.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Fever with myalgia (whole bodyache) is diagnosed on the basis of clinical symptoms and laboratory tests. And there are no pathognomic features that will allow us to diagnose XXXXXXX river fever symptomatically. Therefore I suggest you allow the doctor to run blood tests as decided. Perhaps the doctor will order for antibody (Igm) test specific for XXXXXXX River virus which will be the deciding factor.

That being said, there can be other possibilities which will be evaluated too. I wish you to get back to me once the test results are on. We can then be able to conclude whether or not you have XXXXXXX River Fever.

In the meantime continue taking symptomatic treatment like analgesics and antipyretics available over the counter with complete bed rest and plenty of fluids orally.

Hope this answers your question. If there is any query then feel free to ask me.

Regards,
Dr.sandipkabra
