Brief Answer:
Anti histaminic drugs can help

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

Most upper respiratory tract infections are of viral origin and are self limiting. I suggest the following things

1. Supervised steam inhalation three times daily
2. Salt water gargling with warm water three times daily
3. Tab levocetrizine at night will help decongest the nose and also soothe the throat
4. Antibiotics can be started if fever persists for more than 2 days
5. Avoid spicy food , milk and milk products
6. Avoid oily food

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me

Regards

syp ambrolite 2 tsp three times daily can be given for cough, it is a milk sedative

I am sorry for the short delay in my reply, It was a busy day at the hospital
