Question: Hi I am burping since about than a week ago. and my stomach is bloated. The ony thing i can relate is this: one night, late at night, i ate a lot of hot wings (which i never do) and the next day i ate hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch (which i never do either) + the same day at night i went to the movies and ate the biggest size of popcorn with a lot of butter (which i do sometimes). After these 2 days. I woke up nauseous and kind of bloated. I was nauseous for 2 days approx (not to bad to rest, but i felt unconfortable for the nauseous). After these 2 days the nausea was gone, however I started to burp and burp. and it hasn't gone + my bloated stomach...

Also i have to mention that i have gas and it is the smelling kind of gas. It's weird... after those couple of days. i came back to my regular diet but still i feel the burp, the gas and the bloated stomach...
how can i stop all this?

any advice pls is welcome and I am also worried if can be something more serious.
thanks so much

Brief Answer:
Advised Omeprazole

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing to us.

Symptoms you described are bloating stomach, nausea, uncomfortable and burp followed by heavy meal mostly due to acid reflux.
I were your treating doctor I would suggest Omeprazole ( Prilosec) tablet.
This is the over the counter medicine.
You should take this tablet 30 minutes before break fast for 2 weeks.
I also suggest you
Avoid heavy meal,fast food,junk food.
Restrict hot beverages like tea, coffee.
Avoid smoking and alcohol.
Eat healthy food like vegetables and fruits.
Drink plenty of water.

Hope I have answered your question.
If you have any queries I will be happy to help you.
Thank you.

My daughter was diagnosed with reflux after having a 24 hr pH probe and bronchoscopy and laryngospy performed last month. Today I found out the results of the pH probe were that she not only had acid reflux but Alkaline Reflux. What is Alkaline Reflux???

I have inflamation causing dysfunction of my eustacian tubes which has been extremely uncomfortable for two months. (I feel like I m stuck underwater at the deep end of a swimming pool). I also had sudden hearing loss in my left ear in June and my hearing is impaired - it comes and goes depending upon whether or not I can pop my ears. I ve been seen by two ENT physicians and treated with nasonex, prednisone (which made it worse) and most recently with aciphex for possible gastric reflux (though I ve never had signs of this). My question: Could this be caused by wheat or other food allergy? I am female, 63 years old, 5 4 , 110 pounds and in good health otherwise.

Yes, I have a 13 yr old that has been vomiting and has had constipated/diarrhea for a month now. She has been seen by her physician and was prescribed Prilosec and miralax. She appears to be full of stool ( according to her x-ray). She is still having dull stabbing pain in her stomach and is still vomiting daily. She expresses vomiting is not always with nausea. I hope she will not need an endoscopy. I am wondering if it s GERD or IBS. Thanks for your response.

Hi. I am a 35 years old female. I don't exercise at all, i smoke but very actively working as a sales rep that sees clients at different places. I recently lost 40 pounds dieting alone within a year. Late this year, i experienced acid reflux too. After that, i began having palpitations, breathlessness (occassional and short) and nausea. The nausea one time took me a week getting over. I had ekg done, 78bpm is the result. I had blood tests and urinalysis done, cleared. I am a panicky person and a worrier too. What is wrong with me?
