Question: My boyfriend and I were just having sex and he started freaking out - I have no idea what happened but he was profusely bleeding - a lot of blood, like he urinated all over, and it kept bleeding - he left would not let me take him to ER and still seems to be bleeding but not as much as before. I am freaking out because there was a lot, and I want to know that it could be a lot of things or nothing but everything I am reading I feel like that indicates something really serious.

Brief Answer:
Could be the torn frenulum but needs examination by doctor urgently.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to HealthcareMagic.com

Yes, you are right in assuming that it could indicate something serious, but it is wise to rule out the most common cause, that is trauma.

It is likely that the frenulum got torn and that is causing the bleeding, but it needs to be confirmed by examining him.

If it is due to a superficial injury such as a torn frenulum, it can be easily managed by applying pressure continuously for 10 minutes (just squeeze the bleeding part between the finger for 10 minutes and do not let go until 10 minutes have passes).

But it may not be that simple a cause, the cause of such severe bleeding could be internal injury in which case he needs to be looked at by a urologist without delay.

Please urge him to go to the ER and get properly evaluated, without examining in person it is impossible to assess the degree of injury.

He does need to go to the ER soon.

Wishing him speedy recovery.

Kind regards
