Posted on Sat, 13 Sep 2014
Question: I am 60 years old, retired from federal civil service after 26 yrs w/multiple chronic diseases and PTSD diagnosis. I have gained significant weight and remain depressed over my situation...lost home & car, currently rent & use contracted bus service (major limitations to service) and friends/family for necessary transport. Fibromyalgia, pinched back nerve, asthma, migraines which have increased, are some of my diagnoses. Recent lost all energy, balance at times affected, sleep disturbed, mood seems too much effort. For past month or two, unable to purchase all prescribed Rxs.

Brief Answer:
Consult a psychiatrist

Detailed Answer:
HI
Thanks for using healthcare magic. I, Dr Abhishek Kapoor, would help you in this query.

I think, you have bipolar depression and you need antidepressant like escitalopram or paroxetine with benzodiazepine. These drugs would help you to come out of the situation. These drugs are not available over the counter, so you need a prescription for that. Better to consult a psychiatrist for that.

In case, you need further help, you can ask.

i have no transportation to offices with area during their regular office hours. The contract bus short hours and doctors' crowded offices prevent being seen at appointment time & being finished prior to missing return bus. Is there alternatives?

Brief Answer:
Try in any emergency room

Detailed Answer:
HI

In that case, you can visit a hospital with emergency room. May be they could help you in this situation. Prescription is must for medications and without that, you would not able to get these drugs. I think, you can try in ER. There is nothing harm in it.

If you have more query, you can ask.
