Bacterial vaginosis occurs when there is a change in environment in the vagina.
Men do not get this infection.
There was one medical study in 1997 that looked at whether providing men with medication helped with cure rate of the infection in women, it did not.
Men typically have no or little symptoms of BV and do not typically require treatment.
Some men do have inflammation of the tip of the penis but this is not common.
If for some reason, there is inflammation of the penis that is thought to be linked to BV then metronidazole or clinamycin cream can be used
