Question: What does this look like to you? I gave my boyfriend oral sex three days ago. The next day my throat started hurting and it feels swollen. He is clean from ALL STD/HIV. He got tested. I have gave him unprotected oral sex before and this didnt happen, however it did one time before and after taking amocicillin for it i got oral thrush and i DONT want that to happen again. Please help me. Could it be because he went too deep and it irritated my throat? Please help. What can i do to help it? Without medication.

Brief Answer:
bacterial pharyngitis likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to HCM forum.
Thanks for posting to us.

Your history is suggestive of bacterial infection of the throat.
This can be treated with antibiotics and antiinflammatories for a few days. If I were your treating doctor, I will suggest antibiotics like azithromycin or amoxicillin+clavulonate for 3 days and review after that.
Your doctor will guide you in treatment.

Meanwhile, do warm saline gargles 6 to 8 times a day.
Take analgesics like acetaminophen or ibuprofen if needed.

Hope this will answer your query.

Brief Answer:
its good,though not specific.

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Sorry for delay in response.

Cranberry juice is especially helpful in urinary tract infection as it alkalinize urine and inhibit bacterial growth.
Though it has no specific action in pharyngitis, it can supply vitamins, minerals and antioxidants which are helpful in recovery from any type of infections. But kindly avoid cold juices and drinks as it delays recovery from pharyngitis.

Hope you got cleared now.
