Question: I'm in Atrial fibrillation , and wondering if I can take Xanax with metroprolol and flicinide. Plus can I take an extra metroprolol. Only taking 1/2 pill a.m 12 mil. Taking 120 mil of flecinaide . Blood pressure is not bad but af is uncomfortable. 130/93/109 pulse. Will see my Dr in a week. But what can I do now?

Atrial fibrillation is an emergency and you will need to approach the emergency room of a hospital equipped with cardiac care as soon as possible.
In the mean time here is what you should do

1. Call for an ambulance immediately
2. If the heart rate is above 130/min with good blood pressure. Metropolol can be taken. Since your heart rate is 109, I would consider Metoprolol 25 mg
3. Avoid taking xanax as it might make you drowsy
4. Extra metoprolol can be taken if the blood pressure is within normal limits, do not take more than 50 mg. Please watch out for hypotension when you take it
5. Flecanide wont be necessary for a heart rate of 109, Metoprolol should be enough
