Suggest Treatment For Arthritis

default
Posted on Sat, 6 Aug 2016
Question: My fingers, especially the middle and ring fingers, are slightly swollen and I have to pull them out straight on some mornings. I do have some pain. I also am really having a lot of cramps in my feet and legs and now have started having cramps in my upper and lower stomach area. They hurt pretty bad but I try to relax and take deep breaths and they let up. I know I have arthritis in my hips and probably in my hands too. I was wondering if something is going on with my muscles that I need treatment for.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

Arthritis are could be due to many causes and different presentations.

First, I would recommend you to get certain blood tests. Tests would help identify the type of arthritis you have. Based on which arthritis you have we can predict or identify if there is anything wrong happening with the muscles too.

Tests like RA factor, C-Reactive Protein, ESR and uric acid levels are useful in assessing the arthritis.

Consult your treating orthopedician to get the above tests.

Wish you good health.
