Posted on Tue, 16 Aug 2016
Question: Am experiencing an intermittent, sharp pain on the top of my left foot. 2 days ago I dropped an object on the same foot and there is a small scar there but the pain does not seem to come from that. I am diabetic on medication with acceptable blood sugar levels. nThanks you.

Brief Answer:
Bone injury needs to be ruled out.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
An intermittent sharp pain in the area with a history of injury can be due to a bone injury. You need to get an X-ray of the area done to rule this out. Avoid all the painful movements and applying a crepe bandage or elastic brace will help in preventing the intermittent pain.
I hope this answers your query.
