Brief Answer:
Pl get NCV and EMG TO evaluate the cause

Detailed Answer:
I am Dr Gopal Goel , Orthopedic Surgeon.
The hollow in your hand is likely to be due to weakness of the muscles caused by pressure on the nerves or due to disuse atrophy of an arthritic joint.
I suggest you get NCV and EMG of your hands and an X ray also to evaluate the cause.Treatment would depend on the cause.
Thanx for the question. please feel free to ask any other question.

The situation occurred overnight and thr indentation is quite deep. Nerve damage doesn't seem enough to cause such a dramatic impact. Also there has not been diminished usage for activities such as golf

Brief Answer:
Need orthopedic consultation ..

Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon.
In case it is sudden occurance I would be inclined to think in terms of sudden rupture of muscle , may be due to some local cause.
I would in this case suggest an orthopedic consultation to examine and think about a direct cause.
Thanx for the question
