Question: my mother is 76 and she had bypass 5 months ago 2 arteries, and she is on dialysis for 5 years now, since her operation she is on antibiotic because of lung infection,two days ago she started to have this jerking on one side of her shoulder alternately between left and right for few seconds, i would like to ask your openion with this case.

I am so sorry to hear about this heart surgery that your mother underwent and the dialysis and pneumonia that she is being treated for.
These alternate movements of both shoulders is very very non specific of any single disease onset. The nature of the symptoms and the lack of any single possible diagnosis to explain this makes me think it is probably just a transient observation and doesn't represent any real disease condition. For these reasons, I will want you to monitor this for some more days to see if it persists and whether there are any other symptoms that you may observe that would help me say whether for sure there is something more we should be looking at or not.
I will expect you to update me on this as soon as I you have more information about persistence of this or the onset of other symptoms that may make it possible to decipher what the exact problem is.
