My 4 year old son, has had common issues with allergies to spider bites, they become large swollen painful masses. We thought he got one on his lower back. It looked like 2 large lumps on either side of his spine. He went to bed and they had seemed to go down in the morning, but he is walking funny again and says it hurts again?
Anti allergic drugs, see allergist
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,
If you realized you generally to spider bites more than others, you are right he is hypersensitive to such bites. It is imperative that he always has something at home to be given him in case of allergies.
It shall be of interest for him to meet an allergist. This is important for specific blood tests shall be asked, especially measurement of Immunoglobuline E, a marker of allergy intensity. Secondly, this shall permit such that an allergy screen be done. Other common neglected environmental factors might be giving allergies that you have not realized yet. Identifying them shall aid in avoiding these substances.
There are treatment protocols that render people less sensitive to specific substances that cause allergies called allergens. This process is called immune desensitization. For now, your general practitioner can prescribe him an appropriate antihistaminic drug to use in case if allergies. This could be oral r topical.
I strongly suggest you book an appointment with an allergist.
