Suggest Treatment For Allergic Rhinitis, Dizziness, Heart Palpitations And Fatigue

Question: Hi doctor I have allergic rhinitis. I have these sinus issues throughout the year. My problem is my nose feels like it's gotten inflammed from inside and it's hard to breathe. I feel dizzy or light headed when I can't breathe. What to do ? I've been using flixonose last few days I'm not sure how much it's helping. I've used otrivin but I feel weird and dizzy and palpitation with that but opens up my nose. The doctor gave me rinoclenil 100 which I've only used once. Please advise. Also I think I feel like tired and fatigue and my body feels like it's swaying and bouncy when I walk. Could this be related to the sinus and ear ? When i walk i feel spaced out and i feel my body is bouncy and sways side by side. I've been to so many doctors. The doctor gave me Stemitil which i have started yesterday.

Brief Answer:
Sinus CT.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. Since you have tried medication, it is time to get a Sinus CT Scan done pre and post decongestion with Otrivin Nasal drops. First get a plain Sinus Ct done, Then use 5-8 drops of Ortivin on each side. Wait 15 minutes by the clock. Repeat the Sinus CT and compare the images with your symptomatic relief. upload the images here for further discussion along with a description of your symptomatic relief after the scan.

2.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.

Brief Answer:
RF ablation of nasal turbinates.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for writing back.

1. Radiofrequency ablation (reduction) of the hypertophied inferior nasal turbinates should help clear your symptoms.

2. It would help to see the images. I do not think that the maxillary sinus cyst or the mild DNS (Deviated Nasal septum) needs to be treated.

3. These symptoms are common in nasal obstruction. Sinusitis cases fatigue and the spaced out feeling. Have you been give a trial with anti-allergic medication and hypertonic saline nasal washes?

4. Always shake the nasal spray bottles well before use otherwise a concentrated dose may cause the feeling of imbalance.

5. In addition get your eardrums checked and the middle ear pressures checked by an Impedance Audiometry (Tympanometry), This can also cause imbalance.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.

Hi, ive been to an ent and he checked my ear and gave me stemitil. I just started that yesterday ans he said sinus can effect the ear.

Its been so many days mow i think about 2 months.

Im nmot on an anti allergy medicine. What do you recommned ? I should take one and a decongestant spray ?

I cant take any of the pseudo meds etc gives me health palpitations.

Serc is another medicine that was given by the doctor but i think infeel weird with that too.

What can i take other than ortivin ? I want my nose to be open and not dry.

I also dont want ro get a surgery for my sinus at this point. Why do you think i feel like this swaying feeling and like im sitting on a camel. Maybe continue stemtil for a few days and see ?

Please advise
Thanks

Brief Answer:
RF is not a major surgery.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for writing back.

1. Radiofrequency ablation (reduction) of the hypertophied inferior nasal turbinates is a simple, minimally invasive delicate procedure to avoid major sinus surgery.

2. Try an anti-histamine (such as cetirizine, levocetirizine, fexofenadine) and an anti-leukotriene (such as montelukast) along with the steroid nasal spray for at least two weeks along with plain steam inhalation and saline nasal washes.

3. Avoid using Ortivin and the nasal decongestants. Get these tests donea nd upload the reports.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
