Suggest Treatment For Acne Scars On The Face
Question: My face was very clear. I started taking gluthathione injections to become fairer. I see the effect on my body but not on my face. So, I consulted the dermatologist for treating the sun XXXXXXX on my face and small acnes around my lower jaw line area. He suggested me hhsone to be used. my skin was glowing. I used it for 4 months and stopped it as it contains hydroquinine.
Now its been 2 months after that, my acne scars have become drastic. Only since yesterday I am using retino ac gel, it looks effective but I used almost 1/4 of the tube on my face. Is it ok to be used like that. Can I use clinique products alongside the gel? Please suggest on how to proceed. BTW I had pcos problem and looks like it is coming back due to the acne I see around my jawline

Brief Answer:
Oral and topical antiacne products

Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I am dr.kakkar (dermatologist). I have gone through your queey and I have noted your concern.
You should not have used hhsone cream. It contains steroid (mometasone furoate) and would have caused more acne.
I suggest you to use clindamycin 1% solution (Clindac A solution), day time over affected area.
At night you may use Deriva CMS gel (Adapalene and clindamycin) over affected area.
Use a gentle cleanser for face wash e.g Cetaphil gentle cleansing lotion, twice daily.
I would also like to add an oral antiacne antibiotic e.g Cap Doxycycline 100mg (Microdox LBX capsule), twice daily.
Regards

Thank you for the quick reply. As I said earlier, I am using clinique products that contains salicilc acid. Can I continue to use the clinique cream on top of the clindamycin?
How long should I continue using the capsules? Also, I am using zinovit tablets. Can I use it along with the ones that you suggested? My skin is oily can you suggest some other face wash as this doesnt remove the oil off my face :( have used it before.
Can I use XXXXXXX sunscreen? Can you suggest some other skin lightening cream please. Can I use vitamin C serum?
How long will it take to see the acne fading? I am worried :(

Brief Answer:
Regarding your acne and complexion
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Salicylic acid containing products can cause irritation if used along with antiacne topical medications.
I suggest you to keep it simple and dont use too many things on face.
For oily skin you may use either Cetaphil OS cleanser Or Episoft OC cleansing gel.
Use just clindamycin gel during the day and Deriva CMS gel at night. I would suggest Doxycycline capsules for 3-4 weeks. Zincovit has no role in acne and I think it is unnecessary. You may avoid it.
Yes, you may use sunscreen during the day.
Once your acne is under control you may discontinue Deriva CMS gel and start using Photoscreen depigment cream (contains azaleic acid 12% and glycolic acid 3%) at night over entire face for reducing acne spots and improving complexion. This product contains skin lightening ingredients.
Regards
