Question: hello, I have dark oily skin(very oily) with acne. my face has dark acne patches and uneven complexion too. its kind of lighter in the upper cheeks and nose area but dark in the forehead and chin and neck. I am not fond of being very fair, but i really want to get a little lighter skin tone which is (most importantly) even everywhere. I belong to south, but now as i am in delhi for past two weeks my skin started drying severely and have started to peel off from face once i apply face wash in the morning. I only use a face wash daily (morning) and nothing else. Now that my marriage is getting near ( the girl is very fair) i need to improve upon my complexion soon. I can bear the expenses but i need a treatment advise which will last for ever without any side effects. KIndly help me t resolve this issue. I ll be humbled if you can advise me regarding the exact product to be used( name of product). Also i have high amount of acne in my shoulders and back area and there are a lot of black scars. I regularly take two times bath a day as i sweat a lot ( whole body) when i am going out. But this acne problem continues. Some are very painful too. recently my sister bought me a acne cream from Dr Batras, but i wanted a suggestion from a dermatologist before using it. please help me with my problem. regards, XXXX

Brief Answer: details below Detailed Answer: Hello Thanks for the query. As you have acne as well as scars involving both face and back. A combined approach would be best. Start applying glycolic acid 6 % cream every night. Keep it for an hour and wash off. Apply acne moist moisturiser and sleep. in morning apply a water based sunscreen like suncote. take carotene tablet. Do this for a month. You will get good results. for back you can go for chemical peels once a month. Let me know if you have any other doubts. Thank you

hello Dr XXXXXXX Thankyou for your reply. Buy i require a little indepth reply.. :) 1)I hope you have seen my face picture i attached herewith. What you think is the reason for my acne & darkness.? 2)For how long i will have to continue the medication? if i am getting the results after a month... 3)You haven't specified what type of face wash i should use? and also about the remedy for peeling off the dry skin after applying face wash now.? i will be in delhi till dec end. (i currently use garnier white with lemon exfoliating face wash.) 4) if i stop using these medics u prescribed after some getting the desired result, will i go back to old state? 5)All these items u specified are for my face i believe. In this, which all should i apply in my back too? 6) Why are carotene tablets for? is it same as beta-carotene tablet? 7)So during day time, i only need to apply suncote cream and nothing else? 8) how shall i plan my food intake? what all to avoid and what all to have specifically? 9)Will these medics address my fairness aspect too..? ( Though i dont wish to be a fair looking man, i want a wheatish even complexion.) if not, what else can i apply for getting a little fair too.. 10) i recently bought (packet unopened) XXXXXXX night cream for fairness which says it has unique skin lightening active lumiskin which helps reduce production of melanin making skin radiant and even toned. Will it be a problem if i use this? i spent 1000/- for it already. :) 11) What do u mean by chemical peels? give me a little insight on it please. Where can i do it? what will be the approx cost? 12) Do i need to do anything special during the office hours? i wash my face about 6-8 times a day, so if my face is applied with sunscreen, what should i do? 13) will my sweating hampers the effect of sunscreen? Brief Answer: details below Detailed Answer: Hello Thanks for the follow up and sorry for delay in replying. I have seen your photograph. I will try to answer your questions serial wise. 1.Acne happens due to blockadge of sebaceous glands. There are lot of these glands on face and back and hence acne mainly happens on face. as your skin is oily chances of blockadge and hence acne increases. 2.you need to continue medication for at least 3 months. 3.You can use melawash face wash. it is a good depigmenting agent. 4.Yes there are chances that you get back acne again so it is better to use these medicines in between at interval of around 6 months. 5.Peels can be done for back also you can use glyha koj soap for back. 6.Yes it is same as beta carotene. it acts as a natural sunscreen and will improve your complexion. 7.in day apply just suncote it is a good water based sunscreen for oily skin. 8.You should avoid oily food and milk products and if possible chocolates. 9.yes these will make you fairer too. 10.You can use the cream which you brought then you dont use glycolic 6 % cream. instead use melawash face wash and lumiskin. 11. Chemical peels are a faster way to remove dark spots scars and acne. In this a mild acid, glycolic acid will be applied on your face and back and washed off. it will cause superficial peeling of skin. It costs around 3000 per session and is done monthly once. 12.No special care is needed. just apply suncote. 13.Yes sweating hampers, so apply sunscreen thrice that is at 8 am 11 am and 2 pm. 14.For white hairs you can take tablet pabatab daily once for 3 months. it is effective. Hope I cleared your doubts, Thank you

For back: using glyha koj soap for back every day and chemical peels every month. 3) using acnemoist cream and XXXXXXX lumiskin acnefree nightcream in alternate days wont be a problem ryte? Attaching the link of XXXXXXX cream. can u pls check? http://www.kayaskinclinic.me/content/fairness-nourishing-night-cream 4) any special reason why most of the products are from curatio helathcare? are they very good indeed? Brief Answer: details below Detailed Answer: Hello XXXX As i mentioned, use melawash face wash and lumiskin. Dont use glycolic acid 6 % cream. Although there is no problem in using it with melawash. There is a bit change in schedule mentioned by you. Use melawash only in evening. In morning use any other face wash. Instead of glycolic acid cream apply lumiskin and sleep. You dont need to use acne moist then. I checked the link, the cream which you have brought is good. Actually curatio is an indian company providing the products at a cheaper rate and of good quality. Thank you

Dear Doctor, Thankyou for the reply... AS prescribed i am using the medications and i will inform you about the results after 2-3 weeks... After i apply suncote, i notice that my face seems very oily after some time. Any suggestions in this regard? Regarding other face wash which i should use in the morning, is there any problem if i use ahaglow facewash( i heard it very good)? will it suit my face ? or should i use any other? from last two weeks, i used to apply lemon juice (concentrated) in my face once in 3-4 days. and then rakthachandan with honey & XXXXXXX water. Should i continue that too or stop applying it.? Also please suggest me a good body moisturizer cream for body as i feel my skin is dry n starting to look aged. Also, pabatab was not available in the medicine store. They had another variant of pabatab (pabatab BZ or something...) Shall i buy it? Anyways.. Happy with you consultation doctor. Wishing you a very memorable christmas days and a Great New Year ahead... With regards, XXXX

Brief Answer: details below Detailed Answer: Hello Thanks for the follow up. Dont use Ahaglow, it is again glycolic acid. Better use gorgeous face wash. Ya you might feel bit sticky with suncote but slowly you will adapt to it. Regarding other products like lemon, it is better to avoid now as too much of applications on face may harm you. Wishing you good health and a prosperous new year, Thank you
