Suggest Treatment For Acid Reflux And Shortness Of Breath

default
Posted on Tue, 13 Oct 2015
Question: Hi, I assumed it was acid reflux for a long time because I occasionally do have acid reflux class symptomology (acidic burning pain in throat, throwing up bits of food and coughing) but I'm starting to wonder if I also have some other problem because acid reflux medications seem really minimally effective and my main symptom is "wind stuck in the chest" basically what causes me the most discomfort is the feeling like I have to burp and then I do but I get no relief. No matter how much I burp, I feel like air is trapped in my chest like a baby who has to be burped. It is usually not causing pain but has started to make me feel like I can't breathe correctly. I already see a GERD specialist who made basic recommendations for that condition so what I'm asking for is next steps in ruling out other causes for this?

I need someone to answer me right away because I can hardly breathe.

Plus you make it appear from your advertising that the doctor is "available now" as stated and "reviewing my question now" and will give you an answer right away. That is obviously fraud because anyone was immediately available they would at least assist with shortness of breath not just sit there in dead silence "reviewing" The thing is someone could write you in real distress like I am and think they will talk to a doctor "online now" and this is not the case someone could literally die because you are subtly defrauding them by actually having no one available immediately. If the doctor doesn't respond right away why should we pay right away? Don't you think it would be more ethical to charge us at the time or after the service is delivered? Bottom line you advertise "online or available now" even though you mention 24 hours you also provide this misleading ad to sick people who are likely not thinking clearly. You are a scam artist and a fraud who obviously pray on elderly, sick and stupid people who are desperate for medical help and I'm guessing you get most of your money from one time payments. You probably don't give a crap what I am saying but you will after I report your site. Thanks for nothing. Don't even bother answering my question.

Look I won't report you. I read the terms of service and I see that I can't hold the site responsible for anything. No need to reply to my quesiton and I won't hold the site personally responsible for any difficulties I may have. I don't want any trouble with the site.

Brief Answer:
Following answer to your query.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.

Your symptoms are typical for GERD, however other diagnosis should be excluded especially gallbladder issues and heart problems (although your symptoms aren't typical for cardiac issues).

If you were my patient I would recommend to do the following examinations to find out what is causing your symptoms (and to confirm the GERD diagnosis):
- blood work including liver and cardiac enzymes
- ecg
- chest x ray
- abdominal ultrasound
- upper endoscopy

This examinations will exclude other causes of your symptoms and will definitely confirm the diagnosis of GERD.

Please keep in mind that the treatment for GERD will last up to 2 months and you should wait for the first month to see any improvement.

Hope this will be of help!
Wish you health!
