Question: I haven't had a period in about 3 months...I stopped taking my bcp about a month ago. My fiance' and I are getting prepared to try to conceive a baby in the next maybe six months. The problem is I started a cycle late last night and he is flying in to see me tomorrow! He is flying across the country basically 2500 miles and we haven't seen each other since the beginning of October :( Basically I need to stop this cycle immediately before he gets here. If only I could delay it for a week...please help :(

Brief Answer:
As such no medicine to stop period immediately.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing to us about it.

I can understand your concern, though.

There are medicines available which may delay or prepone your period, but as such there is no medication available which stop your period bleeding. ( Or you should not practice it).

You already started your contraceptive pill again, maybe they will end your period bleeding.

Please do not consume any other medicine without consulting your treating doctor because they contain hormone in it which may be harmful to you.

Hope it is useful, feel free to ask more.

Good luck.
Regards
Dr.Richa
