Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Cramps And Bloating

default
Posted on Tue, 5 Jul 2016
Question: I have had abdominal cramping and bloating for the past two days. The cramps are so bad at times that they extend around to my mid back muscles. It is much worse after eating so I have very little appetite. I am a female, age 73. I don't think I've had a fever, but have been very weak and shaky. I usually have a BM every day, but not now in 3 days. I am in good health otherwise. Take Lisinopril 40 mg for B/P. Have he of cholecystectomy and roux en y gastric bypass 20 years ago and hip replacement in 2012. My mother had many episodes like this and it was diverticulitis. I've had a colonoscopy within the last 10 years and it did identify that I had diverticuli. Any ideas?

Brief Answer:
Supportive care

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Symptoms of cramps and bloating worsened by meals with history of cholecystectomy and roux en y procedure with diverticulitis on a colonoscopy is likely a functional bowel decline both age related as well as an acute flare of IBS. You will need IBS ( irritable bowel syndrome ) treatment. Supportive care, small frequent meals, alot of fluids intake, fibrous diet, avoiding triggers, spices, fats, dairy products, smoking, alcohol, fast foods etc. Take yogurt and peppermint as these two supplements help bowel the most. Right now with no fever, all you need is use home remedies and above mentioned supportive care. Take some pepto for the cramps. Probiotics will help too. Hang in there, i am sure the symptoms will improve.

I hope it helps. take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
