Suggest Treatment For A Tender Lump On The Hip Post An Accident

Question: Hi,
Three weeks ago, I took a bad fall on ice. My left outside hip area bore the brunt of most of the fall. (I'm 5'10" and 150 lbs.) The massive bruise is now gone, but I have a lump about size of a tangerine in the area. It's soft and not painful. Tender perhaps, but not painful.

Brief Answer:
you need to get an X-ray done.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have read your query and understand your concern.

It seems their is soft tissue injury or may be hairline fracture of bone forming hip joint which is getting healing phase.

So, I'd advice you to get an X-ray of hip joint done in AP View and send me the report, although their is no pain, still I'd like to see your X-ray for checking the surrounding soft tissue collection, if any.

Swelling may be due to accumulation of fluid or blood, some times it has to be aspirated.

So, I advise you to go to orthopedic surgeon, he may do your physical examination and if needed may aspirate that fluid.

I hope you got your answer.

If you have any doubt, please let me know.

Thanks,
