Question: Hi,
My kid has fallen down hard on surface and he has inflation in the forehead for 3 to 4 days.
We tried ice pack but it's still there.
can you suggest some medication.
He is 1.5 years old.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. I understand that your kid had hit his head hard. Now this could lead to an external soft tissue injury to his scalp as well as to brain matter inside the skull. In case of the soft tissue injury, the swelling will be there for a week or so and will gradually resolve. Unless he has pain, no medication needs to be given. In case of pain paracetamol or acetaminophen can be given. On the other hand, in case of internal brain injury, if that had occurred, ominous signs of head injury like vomiting, loss of consciousness, seizures or severe headache would have occurred. Since that is not the case here, you need not worry.
