Question: Hi doctor, hope u well. I have a question, my friend is 23 years old and had a baby in january. Before she gave birth she had a small lump in her breast but didn't pay much attention to it. Recently, the lump has grown. i have attached picture and the doctor note. they have advised she get it removed. please advice. the doctors here are not all great and she would have to fly to south XXXXXXX for further tests and if need be get it removed there. she's scared as it could be cancerous in the long run, hence feels removal would be vital. What would you recommend?

Brief Answer:
No need to remove

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, hope you and your baby inside are doing well.
I have seen the attached reports.
Fibroadenomas are not cancerous at all and can be left behind if not painful and size is less than 3 cm
So she can avoid removal at least till she is lactating
All the best

Brief Answer:
Antibiotics needed

Detailed Answer:
In case it is painful then she needs a course of antibiotics and anti inflammatory drugs for at least 7 days and then see the response
It is possible that it may decrease in size as well
