Suggest Treatment For A Dry Patchy Spot On The Throat
Question: My son is complaining of a patchy dry spot on his throat. His voice is hoarse but he does not have any drainage or mucus. He is leaving out of the country tomorrow. Should he go to the dr or maybe just allergies?

It is likely to be Pharyngitis, in the absence own other symptoms there is no cause of concern.
Warm saline gargling ( to a glass of lukewarm water add 2 spoons of salt) will be helpful done thrice a day.
Antiseptic lozenges will also be helpful. It is usually self limiting and there is no cause for concern. Consultation will be required if the symptoms worsen.
