Suggest Treatment For A Bump On The Kneecap

default
Posted on Thu, 23 Jun 2016
Question: Hello,
Today I discovered a hard, painless, bump on my right kneecap. There is not pain whatsoever, no discomfort. I only noticed it because I was rubbing sunscreen on my legs. It feels as hard a bone. It seems to disappear when my legs are fully extended. In fact, when my legs are fully extended, both my knees feel identical. Only when my legs are fully bent, does this small bump appear on my right kneecap. When I feel both knees when they're bent, is the only time I can see or feel the bump. Any idea what this can be?

Brief Answer:
Most likely a fibroma.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM

I have gone through your query and picture. It can be most likely fibroma which is a benign tumour. This is harmless. It should be observed whether it is increasing in size. In such case it can be removed surgically under local anaesthesia.
It is better to have an examination by orthopaedician and MRI if necessary to rule out the condition.

Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks
