Suggest Treatment For UTI

default
Posted on Wed, 18 Nov 2015
Question: I might have caught an UTI through receiving oral sex from a working girl .

My symptoms are very mild burning inside my penis , my urethra may seem to be
little inflamed . These symptoms are present for most of the day . Symptoms are manageable but irritating .

My question is can I cure UTI without antibiotics ?
How ?
What is your recommendation ?

PS. yesterday I tried drinking baking soda and apple cider vinegar
also I tried dipping my penis in a tea-tree oil mixed with water for 5 minutes.
Also I've read that eating few cloves of raw garlic a day is good idea for UTI .

Do you think this treatment may be sufficient to cure UTI ?
Can UTI be spread to my wife during intercourse like any std ?

Brief Answer:
Avoid self medication. Seek the help of your physician

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM
Thanks for posting your query.
Either home remedies nor self treatment in case of urinary tract infection or urethritis will not be always fruitful. A rare possibility of urethritis due to STD causes is also there. Examination of urine will reveal the presence of any infection. Following Culture for nonspecific and gonococcal organisms and as per the sensitivity test, treatment has to be decided. Consult your physician and follow his guidance. Get well soon.

Brief Answer:
Azithromycin effective only for STD.Adequate dose necessary for eradication

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Certain regimen of Azithromycin would not be as effective as the standard 2 gms statum dose recommended to treat both Gonorrhea or Chlamydial infection or 5oo mg twice daily for 2 weeks. (now they recommend for a week which I don't). Inadequate dose failed to have a total eradication of the infection. Anyhow urine examination would reveal whether infection still present or not. Moreover Azithromycin would be effective more against STD organisms rather than the ordinary organisms for which the antibiotics should be selected on the basis of culture and sensitivity result. Your wife must be treated if STD organisms suspected. In case of recurrent Urinary infection wife is also better be treated.
