Brief Answer:
Yes

Detailed Answer:
Urinary tract infections ( UTI) are very common at this age and you must have had several such episodes which went unnoticed. As the history is suggestive of UTI, I dealt you should get urine culture fine before the initiation of an antibiotic. you need to be given the antibiotic as per the sensitivity report. The most common cause of recurrent UTI us the I adequately treated previous infection. It appears you gave developed UTI DNS you need evaluation .
Ideally you can go to ER and get evaluated and also you need to be evaluated by Gynecologist and urologist

I did get a culture first before given the antibiotics and then was put on Amoxillian for 5 days 3x a day....then Nitrofurantoin, but I am concerned about the latter because the precautions are not to take it if you can't urinate....
I know what UTI is, but what is UTIDNS?????

Brief Answer:
sorry

Detailed Answer:
sorry for the spelling mistake ( typo) . You have UTI only ( not UTI DNS). Its wrong in your case to give antibiotic with out a proper culture erst as you are likely to develop infections again and again. From now on,when ever you develop symptoms, you better get urine culture and then start an antibiotic as per the sensitivity pattern. The urine culture report is likely to be negative ( means sterile ) as you have been given an antibiotic. But, you definitely need to be evaluated by a gynecologist as well as urologist.
