Suggest Treatment For UTI

Question: Have been taking Nitrofurantoin 100 mg twice a day for 9 doses but abdominal pain, stinky urine and maybe slight blood persists. What else can I do?

Saw RNC at CVS pharmacy clinic. She did a dip into midstream urine catch. She said I had a UTI last Wednesday. I continue to have cramps, bad smelling urine, and incontinence. I do not think the Nitrofurantoin 100 mg every 12 hours is working.

What do you think?

Please have a urine culture done.
For UTI, culture based specific antibiotics have to be taken, not just any empirical antibiotic, that might worsen things.
Get a formal urine culture done and then start culture based antibiotics.
