The goal of treatment is to cure hepC. In other words, the aim is to secure that there is no virus inside the patient's body 6 months after stopping medications. This is what we call the success of treatment.

With regards to medications, they come to various types depending on type of hepC virus:
- interferon
- ribavirin
- telaprevir
- boceprevir
and the new drugs
- simeprevir
- and sofosbuvir
